Psalm 139:13-14:

“For You formed my inward parts.

You knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Wonderful are Your works, my soul knows it very well.”

Wonderful are your works. I have prayed these verses when trying to understand and trust that my issues, my sons’ issues are not past Your notice. Its you who formed us. Its You who’s knitted us together.

Forming clay and knitting anything takes a plan, a specific plan. And unlike my own feeble attempt at art, there are no mistakes in Your creation. I am made as You made me, as you planned for me. I am unique to Your plans. Not that You need me, but You saw a place for me and You created me, setting me in the place You see best.

Lord, let me not take this for granted. I am ME on purpose. I am imperfect on purpose. I am good at some things on purpose. I need lots of help in other areas on purpose. Teach me to internalize that I am a gift. I am Your plan, with all my introvertedness, anxieties, and control issues, for You can work with those parts of me too.

There is nothing wrong enough with me that can limit what You are able to do.

Praise God, for Your power and omniscience!

Help me remember this also regarding my sons. Lord, help me remember that ADHD cannot limit what You can do. 22q11.2 deletion syndrome cannot limit what you can do.

Does anyone else need to hear that? Whatever you see as wrong, whatever is unfair, whatever weighs you down during the day and keeps you up at night, it is NOT too much, too big, too messy to limit what He can do. You are not irredeemable. Your situation is not beyond the reach of His grace.

M

y soul knows it very well. Oh Lord, make that so for my own soul. Let me not despair about what you’ve given to me. Let me trust in you and accept my sons, myself as we are. Let my faith in Your plan, Your timing, Your purposes be bigger than my doubts and need for control.

For who knows the made better than the Maker? Who knows creation better than the Creator?

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works.
